In a nutshell: Circlay shows your contacts as circles and helps you keep in touch with them. By installing and using it, you accept these terms. The app works on your Contacts: the actions you confirm (deleting, merging, blocking, sending) are your decision, and it’s wise to keep a backup.
These Terms and Conditions of Use (the “Terms”) are a legal agreement between you (the “user”) and Jorge Maldonado Borbón, operating under the IndieLob brand (the “developer”), governing your use of the Circlay mobile app, its widgets and its call blocking and identification extension (the “app”).
By downloading, installing, opening or using Circlay, you accept these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree with any part of them, do not use the app and uninstall it.
If you use the app as a minor, you must do so with the consent and under the supervision of your parent or legal guardian, who assumes acceptance of these Terms.
Circlay is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Apple Inc. or by any other company or social network mentioned in the app (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Telegram, TikTok, Google Maps, Waze or others).
Circlay is an iPhone app that shows the contacts in your address book as circles in a honeycomb and brings together tools to help you keep in touch with them. Its features include, among others:
The app requires iOS 18 or later and permission to access Contacts. Some features depend on the iPhone model, the iOS version, the region or language, being signed in to iCloud or granting additional permissions (microphone, location, camera, calendar, notifications).
The developer grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install and use Circlay on the Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with Apple’s App Store Usage Rules, for your own personal or professional purposes.
The app is licensed to you, not sold. Except where these Terms state otherwise, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies on a supplementary basis. In the event of a conflict between the two, these Terms shall prevail to the extent that they are compatible with Apple’s rules.
Circlay is free to download. For the first 7 days after the first download, all features are available as a free trial. Circlay Pro is an optional in-app purchase that keeps them unlocked permanently.
| Always free | With Circlay Pro (or during the trial) |
|---|---|
| Honeycomb, groups, grid and list; free mode, backgrounds, circle styles and icons; contact details, keypad and social networks; “About This Contact” context; favorites; duplicates; sharing by QR code; iCloud Drive backup and backup file. | Activity history and voice notes; reminders; messages, templates and birthdays; maps and directions; call blocking and identification; temporary contacts; “Keep in Touch”; widgets; smart summaries; business card scanner; tags and saved filters; insights; event mode; Calendar sync; CSV/PDF export; extras when receiving a QR code. |
If the trial ends without you buying Pro, everything you have already set up is kept and keeps working to the extent described in the app (for example, existing reminders still send alerts, blocked numbers stay blocked and temporary contacts are still deleted on their date), and you can always view, remove or delete what you created. What is locked is creating or changing items in the Pro features.
Circlay Pro is a one-time payment (non-consumable purchase): it is not a subscription, it does not renew and it does not generate recurring charges. It is tied to the Apple Account used to make the purchase. Unless the App Store indicates otherwise, it is not shared through Family Sharing.
In future versions the developer may adjust which features belong to the free version or to Pro, always without taking features away from anyone who has already bought Circlay Pro.
Important. Circlay works directly on your iPhone’s Contacts. Some actions permanently modify or delete contacts and sync with whatever account you have set up in iOS (iCloud, Google, Exchange…).
Several features rely on Apple services (Contacts, iCloud, Maps, speech recognition, Apple Intelligence, Calendar, Messages, Mail, Phone, notifications and purchases) and on third-party apps or websites that you open from Circlay (social networks, WhatsApp, Telegram, Google Maps, Waze, etc.). Their availability, operation, content and terms depend on those third parties and are beyond the developer’s control. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.
By using Circlay, you agree not to:
The app, its code, its design and interface, its text, icons, the Circlay name, the IndieLob brand and their logos are the property of Jorge Maldonado Borbón and are protected by intellectual and industrial property laws. The names and logos of social networks and third-party services belong to their respective owners and are shown only to identify them.
These Terms do not transfer to you any ownership rights in the app beyond the license to use described in section 4.
The handling of information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. In short: Circlay does not send your contacts or your information to the developer’s servers, uses no analytics or advertising, and stores everything on your iPhone and, if you turn it on, in your iCloud Drive.
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer disclaims all express or implied warranties, including those of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
The developer does not warrant that the app will operate uninterrupted or error-free, that it will be compatible with all devices and configurations, that notifications will always arrive on time, that directions, locations, transcriptions or summaries will be accurate, or that all duplicates will be detected or all calls blocked.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights that mandatory consumer protection law grants you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, contacts or opportunities, arising from the use of or inability to use Circlay.
In particular, and without limiting the foregoing, the developer is not liable for: contacts deleted or merged through actions you confirmed or because of a temporary contact’s date; reminders or alerts that did not arrive; calls that were or were not blocked; route directions; messages you sent; transcription, summary or card-reading errors; or your use of third parties’ data.
The developer’s total aggregate liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you actually paid for Circlay Pro in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim or, if you made no purchase, to zero.
These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as for willful misconduct or personal injury caused by gross negligence.
These Terms are entered into between you and the developer, not with Apple Inc. Accordingly:
You may terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling the app. The developer may suspend or revoke the license if you materially breach these Terms, in particular section 11.
Upon termination of the license, you must stop using the app and remove it from your devices. The sections on intellectual property, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability and governing law shall survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States and, where applicable, those of the State of Durango, excluding their conflict-of-laws rules. For any dispute, the parties expressly submit to the competent courts of the city of Durango, Durango, Mexico, without prejudice to the non-waivable rights that consumer protection law grants you in your place of habitual residence, including the option of bringing proceedings before the courts where you live.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be void or unenforceable, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect.
The developer may update these Terms to reflect changes to the app or to applicable law. The version in force will always be the one published on this page, together with its effective date. If the change is substantial, you will be notified within the app itself or in the App Store release notes. Continuing to use Circlay after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms; if you do not accept them, uninstall the app.
The Spanish version of these Terms and Conditions of Use is the only official and legally binding version. The versions available in other languages — English, French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, German, Turkish, Simplified Chinese and Dutch — are published solely for informational purposes and as a courtesy, to make them easier to understand, and have no legal force in themselves.
In the event of any discrepancy, contradiction, ambiguity, translation error or omission, or conflict of interpretation between the Spanish version and any of its translations, the Spanish version shall always prevail in its entirety and shall govern for all legal purposes.
